What it is
Nova MD, which also trades as Try Nova, is a telehealth company that prescribes compounded medications online. It sells sermorelin in two forms. The injection is a 5 mL vial holding 15 mg of sermorelin at 3 mg per mL, shipped ready to use and already reconstituted, so there is no powder to mix. The troche is a 1000 mcg lozenge that dissolves under the tongue, for people who want to avoid needles. Each form has its own page and its own price list.
How it works
You start with a free medical questionnaire that Nova says takes about five minutes. A licensed provider reviews it and builds a treatment plan, and the provider visit is included at no extra charge. If the provider does not approve treatment, you are not charged. The prescribing doctors belong to Arora Health Group, and a clinician meets with you after checkout. If you are prescribed, an independent pharmacy ships the medication with free overnight shipping. Orders usually leave in one to two business days, and can take up to five. After that you get ongoing support, with unlimited follow-ups. Nova says the price covers consultation, care, medication, supplies, shipping and support, with no membership fee. You can pause or cancel the monthly plan at any time. Nova's sermorelin page does not mention lab work, so ask whether the provider will want bloodwork before prescribing. The troche page works the same way, with its own questionnaire and the same included visit.
Pricing transparency
The injection has two plans. The monthly plan is $149 a month for one 5 mL vial, with no commitment. The quarterly plan is $105 a month, billed as $315 every three months for three vials. That saves $132 over three months. The quarterly plan is shown first and selected by default, so check which plan you are on at checkout. The troche follows the same pattern. It is $149 a month on the monthly plan, or $99 a month on the three-month plan, billed quarterly. Two cancellation terms matter. If you cancel after the provider has reviewed your order but before it ships, Nova keeps a $25 provider fee. To stop a renewal, cancel at least two days before the renewal date, in the patient portal or through support. Once the pharmacy fills an order, it generally cannot be canceled, returned or refunded. If medication arrives damaged, contact Nova within 48 hours of delivery. Over six months, the injection costs $630 on two quarterly plans or $894 month to month.
Branded vs compounded
There is no FDA-approved sermorelin on the US market, so both of Nova's products are compounded to order. Nova states that the FDA does not review compounded medications for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are sold. Nova publishes the strength for both forms, which lets you compare it with other sellers. On the injection, $149 buys 15 mg, or about $10 per milligram. On the quarterly plan it is about $7 per milligram. A premixed vial is convenient, but ask how long it stays good once opened and how to store it. Most of the published human research on sermorelin used injections, not troches.
